Regional resilience shining through

Regional businesses quite often need to build things that our metropolitan peers can find sitting on the shelf. In 2009, Offermans went looking for regional economic data that showcased the opportunities and the risks of our regional economies. There was nothing available, so we commissioned a bespoke economic review of Regional Qld and the Northern Exposure newsletter was born.

Northern Exposure took a break during COVID but is back better than ever! In conjunction with the team at Regional Economic Advisory, we are proud to present the first edition for 2023 and our 31st deep dive into the economies of Regional Qld.

The economies reviewed in the Northern Exposure covers an area just under 1.5MsqKM (the equivalent land area of Spain, France, Germany and the UK) and 900,000 people. Its a massive credit to Matt Kelly at REA for being able to review such diverse space. In future editions, Northern Exposure will be looking to further highlight the relative competitiveness of each region. Feel free to provide this information to your clients to give them a feel for how their region is going no matter where they are in our massive State.

The recent CopperString2.0 acquisition by the State Government is the largest public investment outside of the southeast. In addition to REA’s regional review, this quarter we look at what we know and what the CopperString project may bring to Regional Qld.
