Last night I was advised that I was elected unopposed as the Deputy President of the Qld Law Society (QLS), commencing in January 2022.
It is incredibly humbling and a huge honour to have been elected to this role. It is not something that I will take lightly or for granted and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities which are ahead.
Next year, I am fortunate to be Deputy President to President Elect Kara Thomson. Kara was also elected unopposed to the role as QLS President for 2022. I congratulate Kara on her many achievements and offer my unwavering loyalty and support.
Finally, I would like to congratulate Chloé Kopilović who was elected unopposed as QLS Vice President for 2022 and 2023. Chloe will undoubtedly excel in the role and make it her own.
Kara, Chloe and myself joined the QLS Council in January 2016 and it seems very fitting that we step forward together into the leadership of the QLS as the cohesive unit we have been for the past five years.
